The main characteristic of this set of works is the instrumentation, featuring works for soloists with string, chamber, or symphonic orchestra. Aesthetically this new series maintain some features developed in the Brazil 2000 Series, but opens for new developments and influences. While the works of Brazil 2000 Series are one movement, the works of Brazil 2010 Series are concertos with several movements.

 BRAZIL 2000 SERIES (1998-2008)

The Brazil 2000 Series were conceived as a set of works of various instrumental media, like Villa-Lobos’ Bachianas Brasileiras. In these works I searched for a blend between elements of Brazilian music with features of Minimalism, looking after an abstract nationalism, and a balance between the national and universal elements, searching for an aesthetic that is both inclusive and personal.
